Traditionally Rigged Vessels
WOW uses traditionally rigged vessels because they have the appropriate amount of work to challenge people physically and intellectually. Modern yachts do not have the same capacity. This is one of the most efficient, tried and tested methods of experiential therapy. it teaches teamwork, problem solving, management skills, communication skills, presentation skills, risk assessment, confidence building, self-worth and a healthy work ethic.

WOW seeks to help these people

From underprivileged backgrounds, that may have created social voids and would benefit from this experiential therapy.

Transitioning from orphanages or youth centers and young offender institutions, into the community.
​
Who have been the victims of domestic violence, treated inhumanly, beaten down mentally or been physically violated in any way and need to regain self-belief, self-worth and self-confidence.

Who may be recovering or recovered drug addicts wishing to re-enter society in search of a different quality of life but need a gentle leg-up in order to help them manage the transition and help make better choices and possibly a new vocation that may not have been available to them previously.

To develop the mindset of volunteerism. Also to offer the same opportunity to those retired or people taking a sabbatical who feel they can contribute value to our cause.
