Our mission is to provide potentially life-changing opportunities to people from various backgrounds, through the maritime industry. By using our own vessels, the sea, traditional sailing and maritime educational experiences, as a medium to integrate people and underprivileged youths, into a society they predominantly feel excluded from.
For us, help is the single most prominent service that allows us to continue to provide
life-changing opportunities. Kindness breeds kindness and there are four simple ways
anyone can help. From big to small.
For ways to learn how you can contribute
and make an impact to our project
and the individuals who will benefit.
SY Windsong is the flagship for WOW and will be based in the UK. She will sail around periodically in order to facilitate visiting candidates and to raise awareness for Wellness Over Waves during maritime festivals and other organised functions. It is also in the UK where she will receive further works in order to bring her to UK category standard for her particular type of
vessel and the work she will do.
The quality I look for most is optimism: especially in the face of reverses and apparent defeat. Optimism is true moral courage.
OUR FLAGSHIP VESSEL
SY Windsong has a captivating history. She is the only remaining sailing vessel that took part in Operation Dynamo during WWII. Today she is known as one of the 'little ships' of Dunkirk.
SY Windsong is to return to her home port of Littlehampton as the principle project vessel for Wellness Over Waves - WOW foundation’s work in the UK. Follow the whole restoration project here.
